If you prefer a more leisurely experience there are ferry trips to Benalmadena, sea fishing, cruising on the dawn approach or chartering a private boat for a cruise along the coast. For those who prefer it under the water, there are a number of scuba diving companies offering PADI courses.
The outdoors offers a great deal of other sports including, Horse Riding, Clay Pigeon shooting, Tennis, Hot Air Ballooning, Climbing, Walking, and Petanque. Within a short drive there is so much to do and see including the traditional Bull Fights that are still held regularly in Mijas Village, Fuengirola and Benalmadena. In the winter months the Sierra Nevada is just a 2 hour drive, if you leave at 8.00am, you will be skiing by 10.30.
If the weather is bad you can always find plenty to do inside. shopping malls, cinemas, bowling and an indoor play area, ideal if you have children. Whether you want a zoo, wildlife park, dolphin safari, sealife centre or a cable car ride there really is too much to mention. read more>>
RESTAURANTS
This rough guide has been produced to cover the surrounding area. It is said, if you ate out breakfast, lunch and dinner for 5 years you could not cover 25% of the restaurants in this area. The vast selection of bars, cafés, restaurants, tapas houses and bodegas cover the whole of Mijas Costa.
There certainly is something for everybody. Fine dining, traditional Spanish cuisine, food from every nationality you can imagine, in truth sometimes it can be quite difficult to decide where to go. From Torremolinos to Marbella you will find a selection of Chiringuitos that serve fresh fish on a daily basis. The smell of the olive wood burners on the beach is mouth watering. Whether it be the fresh sardines, doradas and sea bass the the results are all the same – excellent!
Some have specialities such as salt baked fish, boquerones ala limone or paella. It certainly is very relaxing way to enjoy a sunny day looking out to sea. In this section most restaurants have been recommended or tried by somebody within our community. If you have any recommendations, please send a brief write up on the restaurant along with a picture and we will gladly add it to this section.
Most of the restaurants are very busy, so it is highly recommended that you book in advance to avoid disappointment.  view guide >>>
